Passing of Mrs. J.D. Creaghan

Was Highly Esteemed in Community in Which She Spent Many Years

The whole community was saddened on Wednesday by the death of Mrs. John D. Creaghan which occured at the family residence after a short illness.

The late Mrs. Creaghan was formerly Ellen G. Adams, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Adams of Douglastown, N.B., and was the last surviving member of that prominent family.*

She was very much beloved by everyone on the Miramichi and will long be remembered for her many kindnesses and well-known hospitality. She was a valued member of St. Mary’s Church and charter member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society and the Catholic Women’s League.

The late Mrs. Creaghan is survived by her husband, Mr. J.D. Creaghan, five sons, Donald S. and John A., of Newcastle, William V. of Moncton, Thomas G. and Gerald F. of Montreal; three daughters, Mrs. D. King Hazen of Saint John, and Misses Aileen and Nan, at home and twenty-three grandchildren.

The funeral will be held on Saturday morning, leaving the residence at 9:45 o’clock for St. Mary’s Church. Interment will be in St. Mary’s cemetery.
